Da tanto tempo avevamo voglia di mettere in mostra i disegni creati nelle sessioni delle Sketchbook Night Chronicles insieme a Simone Massoni e Ilaria Falorsi. Disegni che, nati come necessario antidoto alle commissioni diurne per marchi di moda o case editrici italiane e straneiere, vogliono raccontare le piccole ossessioni di ognuno di noi. Le forme burrose delle donne di Ilaria sorprese ad occhi spalancati in situazioni compromettenti, le pose dei passanti rubate in strada da Simone, la mia recente ossessione per le mani intrecciate, con immancabili fumetti spesso bianchi.
Presenteremo questa mostra con un aperitivo/cena inaugurale il 24 Giugno 2010 alle 19 alla Casa della Creatività, in Vicolo Santa Maria Maggiore a Firenze. In mostra 16 tele di 100x70cm oltre a una serie di preziose pagine tratte dai nostri sketchbook.
La location è d'eccezione, in pieno centro storico a Firenze, a due passi dall'Arno, vetrina - a fine inaugurazione - dei favolosi fuochi di S. Giovanni. Potrebbero bastare queste come motivazioni per farvi accorrere a flotte, ma abbiamo deciso di aggiungere un bonus: fra tutti coloro che consumeranno al bar (5 Euro drink+cena buffet), verrà estratto a fine serata un vincitore che riceverà una delle tele esposte in omaggio.
In contemporanea alla presentazione della mostra, il live set di Katacrash Ensemble, reading del libro dell'ex rapper Fabrizio Gabrielli accompagnato da sampler e contrabbasso, presentato da Switch Creative nell'ambito della rassegna Local Heroes.

The Ant Theater is the name of an artistic group created by three visual artists in Florence. While working for fashion brands and international publishing houses, they've developed a unique approach to the art of drawing in unconventional situations, thank to trusty sketchbooks, watercolour and simple pen drawings.
Each has his own distintive obsession: Simone Massoni steals the casual poses and the random speech from street walkers, Ilaria Falorsi depitcts curvy girls in uncommon situations , Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini obsesses on hands positions and details of faces of friends. The art of The Ant Theater, created in the dimly lit pubs of Florence, can be admired on the website of the group (www.theanttheater.com,) or, in a live at the show that will open at Casa della Creatività on June 24th 2010. Opening at 19, the opening party will be a chance for a nice aperitif before the Fire Show that will start at 22 on the city riversides. And the trio added a playful bonus: a piece from the show will be randomly assigned to one of the visitors of the party.
